Our Story & Mission

At Bianco DiNapoli Tomatoes, we know that great food starts with simple, honest ingredients. Founded in 2010 by Rob DiNapoli and Chris Bianco, our mission is to bring the very best tomatoes from the field to your table. Rob's family has been in the farming and canning industry since 1939, and Chris, a James Beard Award-winning chef know for his pizza, has always sought to highlight the purest ingredients in his cooking. Together, we’ve created a brand that values quality, integrity, and community.

Our tomatoes are organically grown and harvested at their peak ripeness, ensuring the freshest, most flavorful results possible. We partner with local California farmers who share our commitment to sustainable agriculture and ethical practices. Our canning process is minimal, preserving the natural taste and texture of the tomatoes without unnecessary additives. We believe that food should be as close to its natural state as possible, and this philosophy guides everything we do.

We are proud to be trusted by chefs and home cooks alike, and our tomatoes are a staple in kitchens across the country. Named the "Best Canned Tomatoes" by the New York Times for four years running, our products are a testament to our dedication to excellence. At Bianco DiNapoli Tomatoes, we see our customers as part of our family, and we are committed to supporting their culinary creations with the finest tomatoes nature has to offer.

“Whether a story or a tomato, always consider the source.”

- Chris Bianco

At Bianco DiNapoli Tomatoes, we believe in the power of simple, organic ingredients that are not only good for you but also good for the community. Both founders share a passion for simple, fresh, and accessible food, rooted in a deep respect for quality ingredients and culinary excellence. Chris Bianco's desire to deliver the sincerest form of tomatoes in his cooking and Rob DiNapoli's dedication to supporting local communities and farmers converge in every can of our tomatoes. We prioritize organic farming practices to ensure each tomato is grown sustainably, without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers.

Our commitment extends beyond the product to fostering relationships with local farmers, and nurturing a supply chain that benefits communities and promotes ethical agriculture. Bianco DiNapoli Tomatoes are more than a culinary choice; we represent a commitment to integrity, quality, and supporting the vibrant tapestry of California's agricultural heritage. We take great pride in the reputation that we and the folks before us have earned, ensuring that every product reflects a legacy of dedication and excellence.

Meet Our Founders

Rob DiNapoli

Rob DiNapoli's journey in the food industry is deeply rooted in his family's legacy. As a third-generation food processor, his story begins with his grandfather, Frank DiNapoli, who co-founded Sun Garden Packing Co. in San Jose, CA, in 1941. This family business thrived, canning tomatoes, peaches, apricots, and asparagus. In 1971, Rob’s father took over as President, and by 1983, Rob had stepped into his father’s shoes, continuing the tradition. However, the growth of Silicon Valley transformed ‘The Valley of Heart’s Delight. Challenges to California foods processors continued and when his family sold the cannery Rob founded DiNapoli Specialty Foods in order to carry on the family legacy.

Rob founded DiNapoli Specialty Foods in 2003, collaborating with the new owner of the cannery to pack his family’s DiNapoli Tomato brand. His dedication to quality and his deep connection to the agricultural roots of his family’s business has been instrumental in the success of Bianco DiNapoli Tomatoes. Rob's commitment to supporting local farmers and ensuring the highest standards of food processing reflects his enduring passion for the industry. His partnership with Chris Bianco has allowed him to merge his expertise with Chris’s culinary vision, creating a product that chefs and home cooks alike can trust and cherish.
